Brayden Point Signs Contract with Tampa Bay Lightning

Lightning ink Point to eight-year, $76 million deal

$9.5 million annual cap hit for the 25-year-old forward

TAMPA, FL - The Tampa Bay Lightning have signed forward Brayden Point to an eight-year, $76 million contract extension, the team announced on Saturday. The deal carries a $9.5 million annual cap hit, making Point one of the highest-paid players on the team.

Point, 25, has been a key contributor to the Lightning's success in recent years, helping the team win back-to-back Stanley Cups in 2020 and 2021. In 481 career NHL games, he has recorded 154 goals and 215 assists.

The Lightning acquired Point in a trade with the Florida Panthers in 2014. He has since become one of the most dangerous offensive players in the NHL, known for his speed, skill, and finishing ability.

The signing of Point to a long-term contract is a major boost for the Lightning, who are looking to continue their success in the coming years.
