Cma To Investigate Potential Competition Concerns

IBM’s $64 Billion HashiCorp Acquisition Faces UK Regulatory Review

CMA to Investigate Potential Competition Concerns

Hashicorp Notified of Review Last Week

Hashicorp, the cloud software vendor, disclosed on Tuesday that it had received a notice from the UK's Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) regarding a review of its proposed acquisition by IBM. The review, which began last week, will examine whether the merger could result in reduced competition in the relevant markets.

IBM's proposed acquisition of HashiCorp, valued at $64 billion, has raised concerns among regulators, including the CMA. The CMA has the authority to investigate mergers and acquisitions that could harm competition and potentially block or impose conditions on the deal to mitigate potential negative impacts.
